While at the MTC missionaries get the chance to attend the Temple on their P-day. The Provo Temple has been closed for routine manintace since Elder Larimore entered the MTC so he has not been about to attend a session yet. But he did get a chance to serve at the temple here is what he had to say:
Shelly was asking if I had the chance to clean the temple and today was the day. At 8:00 a.m. my district headed over to the temple for our assignment. I was really excited to get the chance to rip out some carpet or something but on the way in this guy that was working grabbed me and my companion and he dub us as "Temple Security Officers." We even got a badge to wear. It was our job to make sure that no one came in the temple that was not suppose to be there. If they had their temple recommend and were there work on the temple we would let them in but other than that no one could come in. I guarded the front doors for a little while and only had to turn away one person then my post moved to the back door where all the workers were coming in. So I sat there for three hours. I got a lot of studying done but to be honest I was a little bit bummed that I wasn’t able to go in the temple and clean and do something else.. Well that feeling didn’t last long once I found out what the other Elders and Sisters did. They had to clean out the lockers. They told me they even used toothpicks to clean out the cracks. Anyways I was just thankful for the chance to be at the temple and I can’t wait for it to open so I can go through some sessions.
The temple will open again in about week and Elder Larimore will get to attend a session once a week until he leaves for Ukraine.
