I learned how to make tortilla this week and they are WONDERFUL almost like home. The stuff that they have here for tortilla is paper thin and rips easily.

Elder Larimores Thoughts and Feelings

This week we started meeting with the older lady that we met when we were caroling when I first got to the ward. She is awesome and sensitive to the spirit. When she saw us singing a few weeks ago she just stopped and started crying. She told us that she has been searching for the truth and she wanted to know more. Well this week as we taught her. We met with her twice. We had members on one of the lessons. It was sweet and the spirit was there, it was so strong. She started crying a few times during the lesson. I got a little bit hung up on my words during the lesson and I am not even sure how much of it was understandable. She just was touch by the spirit and said it didn’t matter if she understood completely because she left warmth and could just look at us and feel warm. Wow. It was so amazing when she said that. Especially here in Ukraine the wicked things of the World are a lot more open and just everywhere, namely Word of Wisdom problems and Modesty. It is just neat to be a servant of the Lord and help His children, my brothers and sisters, my friends find their way back home. This week as I was studying I really liked these scriptures. In Moses chapter 6:

31And when Enoch had heard these words, he bowed himself to the earth, before the Lord, and spake before the Lord, saying: Why is it that I have found favor in thy sight, and am but a lad, and all the people hate me; for I am slow of speech; wherefore am I thy servant?
32And the Lord said unto Enoch: Go forth and do as I have commanded thee, and no man shall pierce thee. Open thy mouth, and it shall be filled, and I will give thee utterance, for all flesh is in my hands, and I will do as seemeth me good.
33Say unto this people: Choose ye this day, to serve the Lord God who made you.
34Behold my Spirit is upon you, wherefore all thy words will I justify; and the mountains shall flee before you, and the rivers shall turn from their course; and thou shalt abide in me, and I in you; therefore walk with me.

I liked how verse 31 talks about choosing this day to serve the Lord. Even if we are weak or at least think we are because the Lord calls us to successed and all things are possible in him (Luke 1:37)

37And it came to pass that Enoch went forth in the land, among the people, standing upon the hills and the high places, and cried with a loud voice, testifying against their works; and all men were offended because of him.
38And they came forth to hear him, upon the high places, saying unto the tent-keepers: Tarry ye here and keep the tents, while we go yonder to behold the seer, for he prophesieth, and there is a strange thing in the land; a wild man hath come among us.
39And it came to pass when they heard him, no man laid hands on him; for fear came on all them that heard him; for he walked with God.

I like how it continues and talks about how people may just not even know what our message is and how serious it really is. And that as I go forth they will see that we walk with God and that we are Good. In Chapter 7 something really cool happens:

13And so great was the faith of Enoch that he led the people of God, and their enemies came to battle against them; and he spake the word of the Lord, and the earth trembled, and the mountains fled, even according to his command; and the rivers of water were turned out of their course; and the roar of the lions was heard out of the wilderness; and all nations feared greatly, so powerful was the word of Enoch, and so great was the power of the language which God had given him.

Enoch led the righteous and he was strong. God gave him strength to overcome his weaknesses. I know that this doesn’t only apply to learning Russian or preaching the Gospel. This just is yet another example of the Lords hands in our lives. He is ALWAYS watching over us and He wants the very best for us and all we need to do is put our faith in him. I don’t know why it took me so long to realize that but it is true. We need to lean on faith and have complete trust in Him.

Welcome To My New Home....At Least For The Next Few Months!

View from our 10th floor apartment

We have a VERY nice kitchen
This is our living room
When missionaries have to come into Kyiv and stay the night somewhere they usually stay at our apartment they sleep on the floor in this room. We have some mattresses aka the things that you blow up to take to the pool with you to float on, that they use to sleep on the floor. They stay with us because our apartment is close to the mission office and also because it is by far the nicest apartment in the mission. When I say nice it is nice. We just paid rent on it the other day and it was 8000 griven. My last apartment was only 1300 griven. A little bit of a difference right, well 8000 griven is roughly about $1000 USD. CRAZY!
My apartment actually has one bedroom with a king sized bed, I sleep on the mattress that is in the couch. I pull it out each night and put it in the door way so I can see my companion, next transfer I get the bed!!!!

Our shower is huge and we actually have two bathrooms. One has a huge bath tub in it that I think I can probably go swimming in.

Don't worry I still use toilet paper!!!!
