Potatoes, Pork and Pickles

On my birthday we had a lesson with a recent convert that Elder Lewis baptized, Ludmila.   She was an hour late to our lesson!  The reason she was late was because she made me a birthday dinner! It was so nice of her of her she doesn’t have much money, I know it was a sacrifice for her to share what she had with us, she is a wonderful lady she made my day! We had potatoes, pork, pickles, tea, and cake. She also gave me two ties and a notebook. She  told me to tell my parents hi from her. I told her that my mom was going to be so happy that someone had thought of me on my birthday. It was a great birthday!

Happy 21st Birthday!!!

My birthday was great!!!! Thank you so much for the  triple!!!! The new translation is so much better than the old one. The Elders in my district met us at the church and we had ice cream and cake it was a lot of fun.  I can’t believe that I am 21.

Lena and Tanya's Baptism

So you are probably wondering about the baptism! Well they happened and everything went great. I baptized Lena and a member of the branch baptized Tanya, It was great. This is what missionary work is all about. They were both just so happy. You could just see it in their faces. Although this last transfer has been though, really though I have learned a lot and in the end the Lord pour His blessings down upon us.  The next day at church they both received the Holy Ghost. Our Branch President gave the Holy Ghost to Lena and Elder Dutton gave the Holy Ghost to Tanya. Thank you for all of your prayers. I know that the power of prayer is real and this is just proved of it.

Blue Shoe Covers!!

This brought back a fun memory

of Elder Hilton!

My current companion Elder Dutton and I had to go to the hospital this week.  When you go to the hospital they give you these blue things to put over your shoes.  It reminded me of the last time I went to the hospital to visit a member.  Elder Hilton had only been in the country a few days the nurse handed him the shoe covers, and he put  one on his head!!  The nurse just looked at him like he was crazy!!  It brought back fun memories of the time I spent training Elder Hilton!

Zone Conference and a Hedge Hog

This past week we had zone conference in Kyiv. It was nice to get together with all of the missionaries in the zone and I love being around President K. he is a great mission President. In the conference he talked a lot about faith and coming face to face with our faith. He also talked about taking the hard classes like 602 English verses 102 English. He used that as an example how we always need to try harder and harder to be better Disciples of Christ.

 While we were in Kyiv we stayed with Elder Lewis.  We were walking in front of the apartment and this ran across the street

The hedge hog was after the food and water someone had put out for the cats!!
