It's A Bird, It's a Plane, It's a New Letter From Our Elder!

Who said that pigs can't fly! This last week Elder Larimore discovered that pigs do indeed fly...at least they do in Provo! For the Fourth of July Provo holds their annual Balloon Fest the week of the Fourth of July. More than 25,000 people flock to this event to see more than 25 hot air balloons launch. This year the Balloon Fest took place July 2nd, 3rd, and 5th. Shanna had heard about the event and told Elder Larimore to be on the watch in the mornings for the hot air balloons flying over head. The balloons fly from 6:30am-8:00am. Here is what Elder Larimore had to say about the experience.....

On the 3rd I saw three hot air balloons when I was at the missionary field. It is amazing what things amaze you as a missionary at the MTC. Well on the 5th I was in the gym on the top floor running and I was looking out the window and there was a flying pig!! There was a hot air balloon that looked like a pig. The kids would love it. The Russian missionaries came up the stairs and I said, "look out the window there is a flying pig!" They said, "YTO" or "What?" and they looked out the window and started laughing. Russian people are funny. It took them a little while to open up. Well besides the pig balloon there were about 8 other balloons I saw and I know there were many more.

Elder Larimore went on to ask about the blog, and if anyone is looking at it. So thanks for looking and supporting our Elder as he serves the Lord. Elder Larimore concluded his letter by saying, " Know that I have a strong testimony of this gospel." We could not be prouder of Elder Larimore and the work that he is doing. And remember that the next time you hear the phrase "when pigs fly" you can rest assured that they do indeed fly...at least every Fourth of July weekend in Provo, UT!

  1. I don't know if Justin reads these, but just wanted to say we are enjoying your blog. I was in Provo this week, and saw those awesome balloons too. My favorite was the Smokey the Bear one. Did Justin get to see the fireworks on Saturday? He couldn't help but HEAR them. You are in our prayers daily. Keep up the good work! Sister Williams
