Mission P-Day in Kyiv

Sunday night we got on a train and headed up to Kyiv for a mission P-Day. The Steinagle family will be going home at the end of the month; this was the last time we would be together as a mission with President and his family.

We arrived Monday morning and gathered at the chapel next to the temple for a morning of sports and just hanging out all the other missionaries. We played frisbee, football, and soccer. After that I went back to my old apartment in Kyiv and took a shower and changed into my “missionary clothes” and back to the chapel for dinner and Family Night with President and his family.

At 5 o’clock we had the mission dinner. They had a ton of chicken and I mean a ton. President told us to take as much as we wanted because there was plenty and that was no joke. After all the missionaries ate there were still leftovers. That is pretty hard to do with a mission full of boys

After that it was Family Home Evening with the Steinagel's. It was fun and President tried to make it just like FHE would be at his house. It was neat to hear from them and all their thoughts about their mission. Sister Steinagel said it is hard to think about home but they have to as they are packing up all of their things, but she said she is so grateful for this mission. President and his wife sang to us, it was neat and some other Elders performed. It was a fun night, it is hard to believe that was probably the last time that I will see President but I am looking forward to meeting the new President and learning all I can from him too.
